About the job:

  • Analytical thinking: A good data architect must be able to analyze complex problems and solve them through logical reasoning.
  • Analytical depth: Sufficient experience with in-depth analysis is required. Data within the clients environment can be complex and widely spread across systems, databases, and even manual data. It is important to be able to see the big picture and identify patterns.
  • Ability to link business processes to systems, data, and ultimately to the effective data elements. Overseeing the link between data models and monitoring them.
  • Excellent knowledge of data modeling: The data architect must have knowledge of various data modeling techniques to ensure that data is structured and stored correctly in line with the ongoing data governance assignment at our client, enabling further unlocking to other domains.
  • Experience with data integration: The data architect must have experience integrating data from different sources and systems to achieve a complete and reliable dataset.
  • Good communication skills: The data architect must be able to explain technical information in a clear and understandable way to non-technical stakeholders. They must also be able to empathize and collaborate with different business areas and digital departments to help solve ambiguities at our client's level.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations: The data architect must be familiar with privacy and data security laws and regulations.
  • Experience with ER modeling: The data architect must have experience in creating Entity Relationship diagrams at different levels (such as conceptual, logical, and physical) and translating them into practical implementations such as data lake implementation.
  • Knowledge of business processes: The data architect must have knowledge of business processes to ensure that the data architecture aligns with the company's goals. The data architect can therefore read and understand BPMN diagrams.
  • Experience with enterprise-level systems: The data architect must have experience designing data architectures at an enterprise level that can handle large amounts of data and complex data flows.
  • Knowledge of Archimate language and working with/interpreting Archimate-based schemes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Azure, Parquet, Medallion architecture, data warehousing, (master) data hub, and Databricks is a plus.
